What's Actually in Saltwater Citrus
Most citrus soaps get their scent from a lab, not a fruit. Ours doesn't.
Saltwater Citrus is made with saponified beef tallow, coconut oil, and a blend of bergamot, tangerine, and eucalyptus essential oils. No synthetic fragrance, no "parfum" hiding a mystery mix of chemicals — just real plant oils doing the work.
Why coconut oil this time
Glacier Pure is tallow and water, full stop. Saltwater Citrus adds one thing: coconut oil, which brings a bigger, bubblier lather to the bar. It's still a short list — we just wanted a little more foam for a soap you might actually want to shower with after a day on the water.
The scent, broken down
- Bergamot — bright, a little floral, the backbone of the citrus scent
- Tangerine — sweet and sharp, the part that actually smells like fruit
- Eucalyptus — a cool, sharp edge underneath it all, so it doesn't read as purely sweet
Blended together, it smells like citrus without smelling like a candle aisle.
Who it's for
If you like a real scent — not a fragrance-oil approximation of one — and you want a bar with a little more lather than a plain tallow soap, this is the one. It's built for after the boat, after the yard, after a day that actually got you dirty.
The short version
Five ingredients, all of them real. Citrus that smells like citrus because it is.
